A TRUSTED PRODUCTION PARTNER FOR SCRIPPS, ION TV AND DOMINO'S
A TRUSTED PRODUCTION PARTNER FOR SCRIPPS, ION TV AND DOMINO'S
A Southend partner since 2025, Scripps brought us two Domino's-branded spots built around their original ION Detectives characters, Jay and Angela. Scripps owns the creative — the characters, the tone, the vision. Our job is to show up and make it real, exactly as they see it, without adding layers or slowing them down.
Scripps developed Jay and Angela, two original ION Detectives characters, as a recurring branded vehicle for Domino's within their network programming. Across two spots, Pizza Cheaters (2025) and Undercover Gala (2026), Scripps needed a production partner who could take their scripts and vision and execute at a high level, without needing to hand-hold the creative process.

The Undercover Gala (2026)
THE PREMISE
Scripps sent Jay and Angela undercover at a gala to investigate a host suspected of hoarding stolen luxury goods. Angela distracts the host while Jay searches the study, gag after gag as he mistakes ordinary items for priceless artifacts, before a hidden lever reveals the actual crime: a Domino's Black & Gold Box, tying "the finer things" to a pizza anyone can afford.
THE PROBLEM
The script called for a gala that reads as genuinely lavish on screen, and the budget didn't stretch to a mansion big enough to shoot one at scale. The location we found had the right bones but needed the right angles, staging, and extras to sell as ten times bigger than it actually was. On top of that, the day's shot list was packed tight, a heavy number of setups to knock out in a single day of production.
OUR SOLUTION
We locked a location with real potential and built a shot plan around blocking, camera angles, and extras that made the space feel like a full-scale gala on camera. On set, we organized a dense shot list into a day that stayed on schedule and stayed enjoyable to work, not just survivable. This was our second spot with Scripps, and oversight stayed minimal.

Trusted to execute exactly what they envision, Southend gives Scripps a production partner who takes their creative and brings it to life without adding layers, freeing them to focus on the story, not the logistics.

Pizza Cheaters "Stakeout" (2025)
THE PREMISE
Scripps wrote Jay and Angela onto a stakeout, camped outside a house they suspect belongs to "pizza cheaters," Domino's loyalists who stray for stuffed crust. A ride-along Domino's delivery person breaks the news: with Domino's first-ever Parmesan Stuffed Crust, there's nothing left to cheat for. The reveal doubles as a joke and a product launch, closing with Jay taking the pizza out to deliver himself.
THE PROBLEM
We had 10 days to turn this around start to finish, talent, locations, crew, all of it moving fast with no slack in the schedule. The client wasn't on set, so feedback had to happen live and remote without slowing anything down. The whole day shot outside in springtime Georgia, which meant a moving sun to match across takes and weather that could turn on us with zero warning.
OUR SOLUTION
We built a remote video village so the client could watch and give notes in real time without needing to be on location. Our DP and crew held the image consistent through a full day of shifting light. When a lightning system rolled in mid-shoot, we called the pause, waited it out for about 30 minutes, and got back to work without losing the day. Ten days after starting from scratch, we delivered a spot the director and client were thrilled with.

"There are plenty of production companies out there, but we want to work with teams we can build a shorthand with, create a great working relationship and make great content. The Southend team checked all of the boxes and exceeded expectations on one of our biggest projects of the year."
